Striders win top team trophy

The Canterbury Riverside 10k, organised by Running and Riding, took place on Sunday 26 October with 143 runners taking part in this postponed race originally scheduled for March.

The route will be familiar for most Striders, starting at the Chartham Village Hall and taking the river path to Toddlers Cove in Canterbury before looping back to complete the 10km distance. We’ve run it many times, but add in a competitive element and medals and the pace definitely increases!

It was great to get so many members of Stour Striders at this local event with Adem, Louise, Lizzie, Bob, Mark and Carl getting together for the below photo just before the heavens opened! A big ‘hello’ to all the other Striders in attendance too.

Top Team of Four

Please remember to put ‘Stour Striders’ as your club when you’re entering events as it helps spread the love and also in this case helped us win the Team Trophy at this event. With trophies for top finishers and age groups there was also the ‘Top Team Of Four’ trophy and we’re so excited to have won this!

Our club had the four highest placing members with Carl, Bob, Lizzie and Adem each going home with a trophy.
