It’s important to stay safe when out running so before you go out, please consider the following:
1. Are you dressed appropriately for the weather and terrain?
2. Can you be seen? Colours, High-viz, reflective clothing & lights.
3. Have you planned your route? Or have an idea where you are going?
4. Does someone know where you are going & when you aim to be back/finish?
5. Do you have means to notify someone in the event of an accident/injury?
6. Are you and your running buddies fit & well to run?
7. Make sure you warm up & cool down.
8. Ensure adequate nutrition & hydration especially for long runs.
9. If listening to music make sure you can still hear & be aware of your surroundings.
10. Run against any traffic.
11. Carry some ID incase of any accident (especially if running alone or with people who don’t know you very well).
12. ENJOY…… it’s why we all do it.
