19 July Update

As of Monday 19 July, most restrictions in England relating to COVID-19 have been eased and as such we have taken guidance from England Athletics which will mean no pre-booking, no required list of runners, removal of COVID-19 forms for new members etc.

This is fantastic news for Stour Striders, and the sport of running in general, but the pandemic is far from over and it is important that we encourage the continued implementation of some of the safeguarding measures that as a society we have put into place over the last 18 months.

We’re lucky to have so much countryside to run in, but even that doesn’t completely remove the risk of transmission so we must do our bit to help reduce it.

  • Please do not attend if you are displaying any symptoms of COVID-19 or have been told to isolate.
  • If attending be aware of personal space and understand that some people may not be comfortable with physical contact (high-fives, hugs and fist-bumps) and will be maintaining social distancing.
  • Use hand gel when sharing equipment.
  • Use of masks is advised in crowded environments.

So to confirm, we won’t be putting the weekly train sessions on the website and will instead look to fill that with external events and races taking place.

We’re so happy to be back and running (pun intended) as usual so let’s all keep safe, healthy, and having fun.
